Cold? No Problem! Daejeon O-World Winter Tips with Kids ❄️

Hello, fellow parents worrying about where to take the kids in this freezing winter! Going to kids' cafes every time is boring, but outdoor activities seem too cold, right? 😅 Today, I'll share a winter travel tip that will blow those worries away! It's my review of visiting Daejeon O-World. You might think, "A zoo in winter?" but our family was actually more satisfied visiting in winter. Let me tell you why!

Why Visit O-World in the Middle of Winter?

Winter amusement parks offer a huge advantage called 'relaxation' instead of the disadvantage of 'cold'. We've all been exhausted by crowds and long lines, right? Especially with kids, a 10-minute wait feels like an hour.

However, O-World on a winter weekday feels like we rented the whole place. You can enjoy everything from the popular Safari to rides with almost no waiting time. Plus, with winter season discounts, the admission is cheaper. Is there any outing more cost-effective than this? Let's start the project to burn off our kids' energy smartly!

"Mom, there's a lion!" Vivid Safari at Eye Level

The highlight of O-World is definitely the 'Safari'! My child couldn't take their eyes off the window the whole bus ride. Luckily, we sat right behind the driver, so we could see bears, lions, and tigers really close while listening to the guide's fun explanations.

It was so rewarding to see my child amazed by bears wandering around the bus and saying "It looks like our cat" seeing lions lying in the sun. Isn't this experience of meeting animals they only saw in books or videos the best nature study?

"One more time!" Kids Yell, No-Wait Ride Flex!

The fun continues after the Safari tour! Even in sub-zero weather, the kids' passion didn't cool down. They could ride the popular rides again immediately after getting off, which usually takes 30 minutes to wait, so the kids were really happy. This freedom to yell "Mom, just one more time!" without hesitation is a privilege only available in winter.

Of course, some outdoor facilities might not operate due to the cold, but don't worry as most facilities kids like, such as the merry-go-round and mini train, operate normally!

Useful Winter Tips for 'O-World'

  • Sturdy Preparation is Essential!: Thick coats are basic! Dress them fully with thermal underwear, gloves, scarves, and hats. If you bring a stroller, a wind cover is not a choice but a must! It's really useful to bring warm water or tea in a thermos to warm up in between. Don't forget the sense to carry a few hot packs in your pockets!
  • Prepare Food in Advance: Honestly, the satisfaction with the internal restaurant food was a bit lacking compared to the price. 😅 I recommend preparing simple lunches like snacks kids like, gimbap, or sandwiches. You can eat them in indoor cafeterias or rest areas, so don't feel burdened.
  • Safari First, then Free Time!: O-World is quite big. Bring a stroller if you are with a young child! I recommend enjoying the Safari first when you arrive. It's the place where people might crowd the most. After that, look around the rides or the zoo leisurely according to the child's condition.
  • Check Operation Info Before Visiting: Some rides or performances might stop without notice depending on the weather. Checking today's operation info on the official O-World website before leaving can prevent a wasted trip.

Winter O-World Review

I hesitated because of the cold weather, but it was a winter O-World outing that I was satisfied with! Above all, seeing the kids enjoy what they like to their heart's content without long waits made me happy as a parent.

If you want to create special memories holding your child's hand this winter, how about leaving for Daejeon O-World? If you prepare carefully, you will surely spend a more enjoyable and fruitful day than in any other season.
